The text describes a world parallel to the world of "Fate/Night Battle", where the Holy Grail has mysteriously disappeared from Fuyuki after the Third Holy Grail War. Many years later, the Iggdmillennia magician clan openly declares its withdrawal from the Mage's Association and claims to possess the Holy Grail. Meanwhile, in the city of Trifas, two opposing sides clash in a battle for the right to possess the sacred relic. The Black Faction, whose members are mages from the Iggdmillennia family, and the Red Faction, mercenaries sent by the Association to retrieve the Grail. Each side fields seven Servants and seven Masters. The Grail itself summons a Ruler-class Servant as an observer of the conflict, marking the beginning of the Great Holy Grail War.
