The expanded edition of "Children of the Advent" contains a significant amount of new footage that was missing from the original version, as well as around a thousand modified scenes. This adds a total of 26 minutes to the film. Some of the new scenes provide a more in-depth look at Geostigma, the backstory of Denzel and Kadaj, and an extended version of the fight between Cloud and Sephiroth. The Japanese version of the release includes a new ending track by Kiyonobu Himurou titled "Safe and Sound" with additional lyrics by My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way. This replaces the previous Himurou composition "Calling" from the original film. However, the North American version retains the "Calling" song.
