The year 0079 of the Universal Century. After the success of Operation Odessa, more and more Federation soldiers are being sent to Earth to liberate the areas captured by Zeon. Junior Lieutenant Shiro Amada is one of these soldiers and is assigned to lead the 8th Platoon, a team of ground-based Gundams. The main task of the platoon is to distract the enemy and search for Zeon's new mysterious weapon. However, during the transportation to the destination, Shiro finds himself involved in a battle, where he encounters the beautiful Aina Sahalin, a Zeon pilot. How will this encounter affect Shiro's further fate and his mission?
