Akiko, a member of the "Armed Detective Agency", possesses a rare healing ability called "Don't give, my love, your life" that is highly valued even among espers (gifted individuals). However, she can only heal a wounded person when they are at the brink of death. In the past, as a child, she was subordinate to Mori Ogai and healed all the wounds of soldiers, even the smallest ones, ensuring a steady supply of cannon fodder for the front lines. The soldiers gave her the nickname "Angel of Death" due to this. The constant use of her ability has physically and mentally exhausted her, and the war has broken her to the point where she is confined to a wheelchair. Three years after the war's end, Fukuzawa Yukiteru and Edogawa Rampo found and recruited her into the "Armed Detective Agency".
