Акю Хиэда

The current "child of Miare" (Jp. 御阿礼の子) who is born into the Hieda family every few hundred years and possesses the ability to "never forget anything she has ever seen"; is responsible for keeping the chronicles of Gensokyo. She greatly enjoys red tea. Despite her young age, she remembers events from the past 1200 years. This is because each "child of Miare" in the Hieda family is the reincarnation of the previous "child", who in turn carries the memories of the previous incarnation. Aku is the ninth reincarnation in the sequence. As it seems, apart from her and Yukari, no one else is aware of this, although she partially mentioned it in her conversation with Reimu in "Memorizable Gensokyo". After each of her reincarnations, her lifespan becomes shorter and shorter, and each "child of Miare" works on the chronicles of Gensokyo, which are known as the "Gensokyo Chronicles". "Perfect Memento in Strict Sense" is the edition of the chronicle written by Aku.
