Seventeen-year-old student at the Verbena Private Academy. She was friends with Rin Tsuchimi and Asa Shigure until the death of Rin's parents and Kaede's mother in a car accident. After losing her mother, Kaede fell into despair and could only find support and meaning in life through her hatred of Rin, whom she blamed for her mother's death.
