The character is one of the pilots of the Mega-Gurren-Dan, a member of the "Black Brotherhood". He can be harsh and rough at times, but noticeably matures throughout the second half of the series. He becomes the interim leader after the death of Kamina. In the crack between the 10th and 11th dimensions, he sacrifices himself, destroying the Spiral Disaster Machine with his own version of the Giga-Drill Break. He loved Yoko.
