Mitabi, an elite garrison soldier, led a squad to provide cover and protection for Eren when he was in his Titan form and needed to seal the breach opened by the Colossal Titan. However, after Eren lost control of his Titan form, Mitabi urged Jan to retreat and abandon Eren, but Jan ordered them to continue defending him. After Armin managed to bring Eren back to his senses, Eren took control of his Titan form and began carrying a boulder to the breach. Due to the large number of Titans, Mitabi decided to distract them to ensure the success of the mission, but was ultimately crushed by a Titan when he was distracted by the death of his comrade.
