Orz, the 900th soldier in Gecko Moria's Zombie Army, is the only zombie aside from the mice spiders that Moria has declared as a special zombie. Moria used Orz to house the stolen shadow of Luffy during the Thriller Bark arc, and Orz is the ancestor of Oars Jr. It is presumed that in life, Orz was a fierce beast from the clan of savage giants. He died due to his own foolishness, as he walked around half-naked in the cold. Initially, Orz retained some of his personality and could not be fully controlled. However, like the other zombies, Orz slowly began to obey Moria, although he sometimes acted on his own motives. After merging with Luffy's shadow, Orz acquired some of Luffy's traits.
