Soi Fong is the captain of the 2nd Division and the commander of the Special Forces. She is a former bodyguard who belongs to the Fong clan, which has long served the Shihōin clan. When joining the Onmitsukidō, anyone who did not pass the "entrance exam" was immediately expelled from the clan. Because of this, Soi Fong has been determined and hardworking since childhood. If she sets a goal for herself, nothing will stop her from achieving it. She successfully passed the "exam" and joined the division. After extensive training, Soi Fong became the head of the personal guard. However, since Yoruichi left the Soul Society a century ago, Soi Fong has been promoted both in the Onmitsukidō (as the commander) and in the Gotei 13 (as the captain of the 2nd Division). Under the standard Shinigami uniform, Soi Fong wears the uniform of the Onmitsukidō captain - a sleeveless and backless outfit. This is because Yoruichi, the previous captain of the division, created a powerful technique called "Shunko," which involves a combination of Hakuda and Kidō. The use of this technique at full power would tear the fabric on the back and shoulders. Soi Fong mastered a weaker version of this technique, and after Shihōin's explanation, she understood the reason for the lack of sleeves.
