Судзумэ Ёсано

Suzume, the main character, lived in a village for most of her life until her parents had to move to another country for work. They leave her in the care of her uncle, Yukiti Kumamoto, who lives in Tokyo and owns a cafe. Suzume first meets Satsuki Shishio at a bus stop. Later, Suzume learns that he is Yukiti's friend and also her teacher. He gives her the nickname "Chun-chun". When Suzume was in elementary school, she got lost on her way home and saw a shooting star in broad daylight. Now, Suzume wants to see the stars again during the day. Because of this, she often skips classes and has poor grades.
