This is a series of light novels, as well as related anime and manga works, written by the Japanese writer Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrated by the artist Noizi Ito. The central character is an ordinary high school student, Sakai Yuuji, who finds himself embroiled in a struggle between two opposing forces, and sides with Shana, a fighter for balance in the world. This series blends the genres of fantasy and science fiction.
